“There are a lot of things we (Qatar and India) can do together. We are very happy to receive the delegation from Government of Gujarat here. I think we can do many things together with business persons from Gujarat.”
This was said by Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar al-Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber recently in his short speech at a business meeting hosted by M S Bukhari, managing director of Satco International Group and a noted Indian community leader.
Bukhari hosted the lunch and the business interactive session at Hotel Radisson Blu for the representatives of Qatar Chamber and the representatives of Government of Gujarat, India.
The Indian delegation was led by Dr Rajiv K Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Government of Gujarat, along with the presidents and CEO’s of Aditya Birla Group, Bombay Stock Exchange, Meghmani Group, KIRI Industries, FICCI, KPMG and others. The notable personalities who attended the meeting, including Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar al-Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber; Moataj al-Khayat, Chairman of Power International Group; Sheikh Ali al-Thani, President of HBK Group; Jamal al-Kaabi, Director of Central Planning Office; and others from Ashghal, Manateq and Commercial Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari thanked the guests and the participants of the meeting. “The purpose of the meeting is to have a business interactive meeting between the representatives of the two countries, he added. “I owe to both India and Qatar. I got all sorts of success in Qatar”, he noted.
P Kumaran, Ambassador of India to Qatar, said, “It is good to see such a a distinguished gathering of people from various sectors of the economy. It is good to see an increasing number of delegations from India visiting Qatar. We are hoping to have the Made in India conference in Qatar in coming months. Bilateral trade between the two countries is about $10 billion and Indian exports to Qatar are about $1.5 billion.
Dr Rajiv K Gupta also extended invitations to the 9th vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2019. The event was conducted and anchored by Saima S Bukhari.
