The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, expressed his deep appreciation for the State of Qatar's contribution towards getting fuel for Gaza Strip to generate electricity in order to help reduce human suffering.
"The Secretary-General expresses his deep appreciation to the Government of Qatar for its $60 million contribution, which made possible the delivery of fuel to generate electricity in the Strip for the coming months," UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement in New York.
"Fuel for the Gaza Power Plant remains the fastest way to increase electricity generation which is essential to keep basic facilities like public health systems working in the region." Dujarric added.
