Minister of State at Sudan Federal Government Chamber and Leader of Sudan Liberation Movement - Second Revolution Abu Al Qasim Imam Al Haj praised the great role of the State of Qatar in establishing permanent peace in Sudan.


In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Haj said that the State of Qatar provided continuous support and followed up consistently the establishment of comprehensive peace in Sudan at the regional and international levels, through the Doha Document for Peace which has become a basis for the peace process in Sudan and an integrated working program that serves the regional stability.

The Sudanese official underlined that the people of Sudan highly appreciates the great efforts exerted by the State of Qatar in establishing peace and stability in the country, in addition to implementing economic projects that encouraged the people of Darfur to adopt the peace process.

He highlighted the deep-rooted, strong and distinguished relations between Qatar and Sudan, which were strengthened further after the great success achieved by Qatar in establishing peace in Darfur.

Al Haj noted that the Sudan Liberation Movement - Second Revolution, as partners in the Doha Peace for Document, is looking forwards new roles for Qatar in the sustainable development process in Sudan, which will gain the Doha document new dimensions on the ground in favor of the unity, strength and stability of Sudan.

He noted that the movement has followed up the Doha Document, worked on enhancing peace and security and encouraged the citizens on supporting the peace process, adding that the movement also held communications with other parties to encourage them join the Doha Document.

The Sudanese official added that the arms collection process, which was approved by the Doha Document, had positive effects and great benefits for the citizens, reflected in the spread of security and tranquillity among the members of society.

He added that the Doha Document provided the armed movements with new opportunities to work on enhancing stability in the country.

Speaking about the great international acclaim for the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Al Haj said that this praise is a natural result of the successes achieved in Darfur and represents an international recognition of the role of the State of Qatar in establishing world peace and security and in resolving conflicts through negotiations.
