Mowasalat (Karwa) has announced that 130 Volkswagen Passat S 2018 cars have joined its taxi fleet within a period of 10 days.
During a function held at the Karwa township, Mowasalat CEO and managing director Khalid Nasser al-Hail flagged off the new taxis along with Q-Auto general manager Ahmed Shariefi. A number of other officials from Q-Auto and Mowasalat were also present.
A Mowasalat statement said the Volkswagen Passat S 2018 taxis come with high safety and security standards and offer a spacious and comfortable interior for passengers, besides a big trunk.
The model also has a powerful 2.5L engine, delivering 125kw (170hp).
The Passat S 2018 is equipped with electronic stability control along with Anti-lock Braking System, Anti-Slip Regulation, Hydraulic Brake Assist and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, etc. In addition, the car has six airbags distributed for the safety of drivers and passengers in the front and back seats, according to Shariefi.
The Q-Auto general manager thanked the Mowasalat management for reposing faith in their company and the new Volkswagen vehicles.
Al-Hail said: “In the run-up to meeting the growing requirements of the country’s customers and also to effectively meet the challenges arising from the hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, we are upgrading the complete eco-system of taxi services with superior vehicle standards, driver training, the Karwa Taxi application, technology, test runs and constant and steady monitoring.”
The senior Karwa official said the company’s aim is to deliver a good taxi experience to customers and ensure their loyalty and goodwill.
He recalled that in July 2018, the management made taxi services more economical and accessible for customers by doing away with the additional booking and technology fee.
“The move was widely appreciated and it helped improve customer patronage. The company believes in and works on the philosophy of ‘customer excellence’ in providing all its services as a responsible and proud stakeholder in the ground transport industry,” said al-Hail.
Mowasalat Government Relations manager Khalid Kafoud said the new-look Karwa Taxi app has additional exclusive features, making it lighter (consuming less data) and faster (quick response time) with more options such as receiving estimated fare prior to booking (at no additional charges), booking a taxi or limousine based on choice and requirements, setting the destination address for best routes and schedule in accordance with the calendar, and rating the service with respect to driver, vehicle and customer service.
The company’s taxi app could be downloaded from Apple Store and Google Play or by scanning the QR code from its website and social media accounts.
“Our taxi services could also be availed of through the call centre. The centre also assists customers in matter such as lost and found, complaints and feedback. The data from this is fed, tracked and resolved, contributing to achieving the goal of ‘customer experience to customer excellence’,” added Kafoud.
