Amidst Qatar Airways’ plans to purchase more than 332 US-made aircraft for $92bn, HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani,
Minister of Economy and Commerce, met with Mark Allen, president, Boeing International on the sidelines of Qatar’s participation in the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly. Discussions touched on prospects for joint co-operation across many fields, particularly in terms of investments and aircraft manufacturing. The national carrier’s deal falls in line with Qatar’s economic policy throughout the years to open up the country to the world’s major economies and to consolidate co-operation and partnerships with different strategic partners particularly the US. Boeing is a leading multinational company specialised in commercial aircraft manufacturing and one of the US biggest exporters. The company supports clients in more than 150 countries worldwide.
