‘Qatar Industrial Gate’ launch today
Accurate information a bout factories and all aspects of industrial activity in the country will be provided through ‘Qatar Industrial Gate’, which will be launched today. The event is being organised by the Ministry of Energy and Industry under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani. At the ceremony, the “owners of factories” who have expanded their activities following the unjustified siege on the country will be honoured. According to the Ministry of Energy and Industry, “some 45 factories doubled their production of vital goods during the siege, and contributed to meeting the needs of the local market with the support and encouragement of good leadership.”

QOC secretary-general meets IOC delegation
Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary-General Jassim Rashid al-Buainain yesterday met in Doha Dr Holger Preuss, member of the Sustainability and Legacy Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and his accompanying delegation, which includes students from Johannes Gutenberg University. Al-Buainain praised the co-operation between the QOC and IOC, and its affiliated institutions. Holger praised the sports development witnessed by Qatar, noting that the country has a global sporting status.
