Qatar is participating in a ministerial meeting on “Roadmap of WHO’s Work for the Eastern Mediterranean Region” which will start today in Salalah, Oman and is being organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.
The delegation of Qatar is headed by Dr Saleh bin Ali al-Marri, assistant secretary-general for medical affairs at the Ministry of Public Health.
The meeting comes as part of WHO’s efforts to continue to focus on the issue of universal health coverage through a series of events throughout 2018.
The meeting highlights global best practices to move towards effective health coverage by strengthening health systems in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan. (QNA)
