Noor Al Rayyan, owned by Sheikh Meshal bin Essa bin Thamir al-Thani's Elalya Stud, was adjudged Best in Show - Female at the Egyptian Event Europe 2018 horse show in Juchen, near Dusseldorf in Germany, on Sunday.
Bred by Al Rayyan Farm, the eight-year-old mare had topped Class 7 for 7-9-year-old mares earlier in the day with a score of 132.63 to make it to the championship round of the two-day event, which concluded on Sunday.
She then impressed the judges enough to be awarded the Champion Mare title, collecting nine points out of a possible 12, beating the closest rival by three points.
For the Best in Show - Female title, Noor Al Rayyan, who had topped her class in the 2014 Qatar National Arabian Horse Show, had the consensus of all four judges to pick up the coveted title.
The daughter of Ashhal Al Rayyan and Ansata Nefer Isis also has a class victory in the Qatar International Horse Show to her credit.
Elalya Stud was established in 2000 and has been actively involved with the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse in Qatar.
