* 18th Asian Games a huge success: Sheikh Joaan

President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani has praised the success of the 18th Asian Games Jakarta-Palembang 2018. 

HE Sheikh Joaan said : "Indonesia has been a success in hosting the Asian Games." He extended thanks to the Organising Committee, and the Olympic Council of Asia for their efforts by harnessing all the resources and arrangements necessary for the participating teams and the guests of the games, wishing success to the city of Hangzhou in organising the next edition in 2022. 
Commenting on the Qatar team's performance, Sheikh Joaan said: "We thank the Qatar team who did their best in all the sports they competed in during the Asian Games achieving positive results. We are also proud of the advanced positions achieved by our promising team at this session, as their participation comes within the framework of the strategic plan of the Qatar Olympic Committee to fine-tune them and prepare them to achieve the desired results in the upcoming sports events. We appreciate their participation and results."
HE Jassim bin Rashid al-Buainain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee said that the 18th edition of the Asian Games, which is one of the most important sporting events not only in Asia but also in the world, was a new success.
Al-Buainain added: "We have been keen to involve a large number of players of different ages, in accordance with the plan to involve the various age groups to ensure the existence of future sports generations to achieve the desired goals and in line with the strategy and vision of the Qatar Olympic Committee in sustainable sports development by motivating them to achieve the best in future championships, in particular the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games."
