Qatar Handball Association president Ahmad al-Shaabi has dedicated the gold medal won by Qatar handball team in the 18th Asian Games to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Al-Shaabi also dedicated the sixth gold medal HE the president of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani and to all Qatari people, including handball fans and those who were awaiting achievements in various continental and international competitions.
The Qatari team won the gold medal in the men's handball competition on Friday after beating Bahrain (32-27) in the final in Jakarta.
Al-Shaabi said in a press statement that the team's achievements in various continental and international tournaments is the result of the unlimited support of Qatar's wise leadership to sport in general and handball in particular.
He expressed his happiness after winning the gold medal, especially given the strength and the difficulty of the competition.
Al-Shaabi praised the performance of all the players, considering that they were all heroes and played with a combat spirit in all matches in the tournament, especially the final.
He expressed thanks to all members of the technical and administrative bodies as well as the players of achievement, pointing out that everyone will now start preparations for the 2019 World Cup in Denmark.
