The exhibition will feature falcons from Qatar and other countries.

Over 150 companies from 19 Arab and foreign countries to take part in S’hail 2018

Preparations are under way in full swing for the second edition of Katara – the Cultural Village’s International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S'hail 2018).
The event will be held from September 4 to 8 with the participation of about 150 companies from 19 Arab and foreign countries, Katara has said.
In a press statement, S’hail spokesperson Khalifa al-Humaidi said the number of participants has increased by 70% from last year.
He cited the success of the previous exhibition, which saw “a remarkable activity in the field of international co-operation and twinning between S’hail and many international exhibitions and festivals specialising in falconry, hunting and hunting weapons."
These include The Game Fair-Festival of the Great British Countryside, and international exhibitions in Turkey and Germany, which came within the framework of a comprehensive marketing plan to reach out to as many agencies and companies specialising in the said field as possible.

S'hail 2018 will cover a larger exhibition space compared to last year.

Al-Humaidi added that the first edition achieved great success and the event has become one of the most important exhibitions of falcons in Qatar and the region. It also occupies a significant position on the map of international exhibitions.
He said the marketing plan launched by Katara succeeded in building partnerships with many international companies, which are focused on falcons, hunting and weapons.
S’hail, al-Humaidi added, has become a distinguished event reflecting Qatar’s heritage, both in the regional and international arena. S’hail 2018 will see an expanded exhibition area -- from 4,500sqm to 10,000sqm -- compared to last year. The increase in space is more than double.
Katara noted that S’hail 2018 will be staged in line with a new design that will accommodate all participating companies and embodies Katara’s heritage.
S’hail 2018 will also feature a number of cultural activities, awareness lectures and new competitions, according to al-Humaidi.
Katara will award QR30,000 for the ‘Best Trade Pavilion’ at the exhibition, aimed at encouraging companies to design and beautify their stalls.
The competition will highlight innovative designs and creative elements of the exhibitors’ pavilions, helping attract many visitors.
The auction this year will feature the finest falcons from Qatar and other countries, apart from three daily lectures by a group of experts and specialists in falcons (and breeding), hunting and weapons.
The S’hail 2018 organising committee has also allocated specialised kitchens for the preparation of food and meat taken from the games, such as birds, deer and rabbits, prepared by a selection of the best chefs.
S’hail is the first event of its kind in Qatar and the region in terms of size, diversity and quality, dedicated to the needs and requirements of falconers, the statement adds.
