Qatar's Abdurrahman Samba has won the gold medal in the 400m hurdles at the 18th Asian Games, which is currently being held in Jakarta, Indonesia, until 2 September.

The Qatari champion Samba won Qatar's third gold medal. He set a new Asian Games record of 47.66 seconds ahead of Dharun Ayyasamy of India, who finished second with 48.96 seconds to win the silver medal, while Japanese Takatoshi Abe took bronze with 49.12 seconds.
This brings Qatar's medal tally to 4 after Abdalelah Haroun Hassan clinched the top spot in the 400m in 44.89 seconds, while Ashraf Elseify won Qatar its second gold medal of the day in the Men's Hammer Throw dispatching the hammer throw to a distance of 76.88m. Tosin Ogunode won the silver medal in men's 100m. 
On Saturday, Faris Hassouna won the silver medal men's 94 kg weightlifting while Hamad Al Marri captured the bronze medal in the double trap competition.
