The importance of carrying the Qatar ID at all times and the need to respect local customs and traditions, among other issues, were highlighted during Eid al-Adha celebrations attended by a large number of Asian expatriates in the country.
The awareness tips were imparted by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) along with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) at the celebrations hosted in different parts of Qatar.
Members of the Asian communities took part in the festivities at Asian City, held in co-operation with NAAAS Group for Real Estate Project Management and Development; Barwa Al Baraha near the Industrial Area, held in co-operation with Barwa Real Estate Company; and the Barwa workers' recreation complex in Al Khor in co-ordination with Barwa Real Estate in the New Industrial Area.

On the occasion, various awareness lectures were delivered by both the MoI and MADLSA on the services provided by them and a host of safety and security tips.
Major Mohamed Fahd al-Dosari, officer of the external branches-Community Police Department, talked about the importance of carrying the Qatar ID all the time as well as the need to respect local customs and traditions.
Lieutenant Saleh Jassim al-Mohammadi from the exit permit grievances committee explained the panel's work and mechanism, based on the relevant law, and how to access its public services.
Meanwhile, a number of safety lectures were given by the Civil Defence, especially on the proper use of fire extinguishers. 
On its part, the MADLSA also delivered a lecture on the Labour Law and the rights and obligations of workers.
Overall, the attendees were introduced to the role of the Community Police Department and the importance of enhancing co-operation between the people and police to further enhance safety and security in the country and ease the delivery of the related services to the public.
Accordingly, officials from various departments of the MoI and MADLSA took part in the events.
The celebrations also featured a number of artistic and heritage performances reflecting the cultures of different Asian countries such as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and others. Besides, some recreational and sports activities were held for workers at the workers' recreation complex in Al Khor as part of the celebrations.
Participants of the festivities expressed their appreciation for the authorities' efforts to share with them the joy of Eid.
