Qatar Social and Cultural Centre for Blind, an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, has concluded its summer programme which was held over a six-week period.
The closing ceremony was held at the Traffic Department’s theatre in Doha.
The ceremony included a presentation highlighting the activities carried out during the Centre’s summer programme in addition to poetry reading and folklore performances.
The Chairman of Qatar Social and Cultural Centre for Blind Faisal al-Kahwaji said in a speech during the ceremony that the Centre was keen on diversifying the activities to benefit different age groups of both genders.
He explained that the Centre has sought, through the summer programme, to achieve a number of goals to serve the visually impaired people.
The Centre also offered courses in technical assistance for people with visual disabilities to learn about programmes such as Braille, Internet surfing skills for people with visual disabilities, as well as training workshops, educational lectures and informative visits to the Qatar National Library.
