Training and Educational Development Centre of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education began yesterday the fourth edition of the programme to train 245 new teachers who have been employed by the ministry to work in public schools.
The programme aims to provide the new teachers with information and skills needed for their job.
It will also familiarise them with the topics related to teaching and give them with professional expertise to support and strengthen their work.
The programme includes important topics such as education policies, remedial plans and lessons planning, in addition to teaching strategy and evaluation methods.
Each year, the training material is modified according to feedback from the education sector.
Launching such a programme aims to enable the teachers who were employed from other Arab countries to smoothly merge into the teaching environment in Qatar which may be similar to or vary from schools in their countries.
Director of Training and Educational Development Centre Hessa al-Ali said the programme has been developed this year to comply with the revised course materials and to fit its role as a qualifying tool for the teachers in terms of teaching policies related to the ministry.
She added that many training programmes will be announced with the new academic year as well as a training programme guide for all the targeted categories.
Professional development specialist and supervisor of the programme Abeer Issa al-Hazaa highlighted the success of the initiative and its positive impact it has had in its fourth year, which reflects the admiration of many new teachers, given the important educational topics it provides.
