The Qatari bowling team were accorded a warm reception on their arrival in Doha on Sunday after winning the boys' overall title in the World Youth Bowling Championships held in Detroit, USA.

Ghanem Abu Jassoum won an individual gold and also helped his teammates Jassim Mohamed al-Muraikhi, Mohamed Hamad al-Muraikhi and Jassim Ibrahim al-Theyab claim the team title.

They were coached by Pedro Merani. Sweden were the runners-up, while Denmark took the third place.
