Qatar Equestrian Federation president Hamad bin Abdulrahman al-Attiyah said the presence of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani at the Qatar Goodwood Festival is symbolic of his support for Qatar’s equestrian sport and to the organisers of the prestigious event.
“One edition after another, it only gets more confirmed that the vision of the officials in sponsoring this prestigious Festival has been far-sighted,” said al-Attiyah.
“In fact, the Festival has become one of the best horseracing festivals in the United Kingdom. The rates of participation and turnout increases by the day, which is in turn in favour of the Festival. And Qatar has chosen to sponsor the event in order to attain more success for Qatar’s equestrian sport.
“I would like to congratulate HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani for victories of Medahim and Watan. In fact, Al Shaqab is very distinguished in these type of races.
“In addition, Qatar Racing’s win of Qatar Sussex Stakes adds value to Qatar’s equestrian sport and horse racing worldwide, particularly as that race is one of the toughest for Thoroughbreds in the world.
