Qatar Charity (QC) has announced the launch of the ‘Offer an Udhiyah, Share the Happiness’ campaign, marking the start of the Eid al-Adha season.
The campaign aims to provide 39,854 sacrificial (‘Qurbani’) cattle, which include cows and sheep, within Qatar and 28 other countries throughout Asia, Africa and Europe.
The campaign will benefit around 900,000 people and also provide Eid clothes for children in dire need, QC has said in a press statement.
The campaign will provide 7,000 sacrificial cattle in Qatar and benefit 24,000 people, according to QC. The ‘Qurbani’ will be delivered to low-income families, widows, orphans and elderly people over the third and fourth days of Eid.
The ‘Qurbani’ delivery will also include farm workers in Simaisma, Al Ghariyah, Abu Nakhla, Al Sheehaniya, Al Khreib, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Jumayliyah.
Qatar Charity has said it will co-ordinate with several foundations and communities to ensure smooth delivery of the ‘Qurbani’ to those less privileged. It will also distribute Eid clothes and Eidi gifts to orphans and children in need.
Alongside the ‘Offer an Udhiyah, Share the Happiness’ campaign, several recreational and educational activities will be held in different malls across Qatar, besides co-ordinating with the Ministry of Public Health to arrange visits to patients in different hospitals and medical facilities.

In co-operation with the Eid al-Adha Fair, which will take place at Katara – the Cultural Village, QC will have a stand to promote activities on Haj, Udhiyah and the 10 days of Dhul-Hija.
Outside Qatar, the campaign targets 28 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. It aims to provide 34,864 sacrificial cattle and benefit 867,648 people.
This year’s edition of the Eid al-Adha campaign consists of many new projects such as Eid clothes, orphan sponsorship, Eidi gifts, ‘Qurbani’ for those in countries of asylum, the 10/10 campaign, the ‘555 wells’ campaign, ‘Calculate your zakat’ and relief campaigns for people in Syria, Palestine and the Rohingyas in Bangladesh.
Qatar Charity has extended its sincere wishes to the people of Qatar and to the Islamic Ummah on the occasion of the auspicious Eid al-Adha, stressing the importance of promoting charity and advocating the rights of the less privileged.
QC is allocating a significant percentage of ‘Qurbani’ to countries experiencing tragic events. There will be 1,000 ‘Qurbani’ delivered to people in Palestine, 10,000 in Somalia, 7,000 in Kenya and 1,980 to Syrian refugees in Turkey.
Qatar Charity provides its donors with a wide range of options with regard to their ‘Qurbani’ donations, those who benefit from them and where to offer them.
To contribute to the ‘Offer an Udhiyah, Share the Happiness’ campaign, donors can reach Qatar Charity via its website (qch.qa), the QC mobile app, SMS to 92652, hotline: 44667711, QC’s stands in malls across Qatar, or QC offices and branches.
