Amusement rides, games and other fun-filled activities have made the Summer Entertainment City (SEC) a haven for many residents and visitors, especially on weekends, it is learnt.

The SEC, which has emerged as a "family favourite" and is one of the major attractions of Qatar Summer Festival 2018, is spread over 29,000sqm of space at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). It continues until August 31.
Many families continue to enjoy the City’s key features such as the world’s largest bouncy castle, an 18-hole mini-golf course, a synthetic ice skating rink, rides, skill games, video games and live entertainment shows.
“The SEC is a perfect place for my children, they have more time and space to play here - especially during this season,” said Grace P, a Filipino expatriate who was spending her weekend with her family at the City.
She added that her children loved amusement rides and virtual reality games, a reason for her to buy the gold pass for both.
An individual entry ticket costs QR15 and a day (gold) pass is for QR150, while game prices range from QR10 to QR35.

A variety of activities for all ages

Several fun-filled activities are on offer at the SEC

The giant inflatable games serve as a test of stamina, agility and flexibility for both adults and children while rides such as carousels and the luxury flying chair, featuring an LED lights show and funny music, are a big hit among visitors of all ages.
Gopal, an Indian expatriate, lauded the SEC organisers for putting up many food outlets that serve a variety of cuisines inside the City, apart from the offerings at the Summer Shopping Souq.
He said a lot of families and children and other festival-goers are enjoying snacks and delicacies such as popcorn, chips, cookies, ice cream and cotton candy, among others, for children offered by several food carts at the City.
This year’s edition of the SEC, which hosts more than 75 "unique and exciting" games and 40 food outlets, has been designed to suit all ages, according to QSPorts.
The organiser is encouraging all family members to visit the SEC and take advantage of its many activities “within the air-conditioned comfort of the magnificent DECC”.
Other key features of the SEC include an extensive VR setup with more than 15 VR games as well as live entertainment shows. A driving school for children is also available with a complete circuit, cars and driving teachers.
For those who feel they want to slow down to break away from all the excitement, an 18-hole mini-golf course is also in place.
