The 2nd edition of INDEX Qatar exhibition, which brings together a large number of interior designers, architects, and local project managers with international suppliers of furniture and furnishings, will take place on November 13 at the Doha Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The three-day exhibition is expected to attract 10,000 visitors, more than 300 interior products suppliers and dozens of companies specialising in furniture, interior design and lighting.
INDEX Qatar aims to meet the needs of thousands of interior designers, architects and buyers looking to purchase equipment and decorations for construction projects across the country by providing state-of-the-art products that define new trends from around the world.
INDEX Qatar said that the exhibition comes at a time when designers are looking to make the most of the country’s surging interiors market in Qatar, which is valued at about QR5bn per year and therefore expects to see an increase in the coming period.
In line with that, an industry report commissioned by INDEX Qatar, and compiled by market analysts Ventures, has estimated the region’s spend on interior contracting and fit-out projects to now be worth a mammoth QR34bn each year.
Ventures said that the interior design and fit-out industry is expected to flourish in the GCC as demand for new residential, hotels, commercial real estate, schools and hospitals continues to grow.
It pointed out that owners of existing structures, whether residential or commercial, will be under pressure to optimise the value of their projects by refurbishing them in order to maintain their market value.
The first edition of the exhibition witnessed the participation of more than 50 local and international manufacturers and suppliers, bringing the latest furniture and decoration products to help equip hundreds of ongoing and future projects across the country, in addition to a series of events and interactive events held on the sidelines of the exhibition.
