Earl Thomas is not expected to report to training camp with the Seattle Seahawks.
According to multiple reports, the All-Pro safety and the Seahawks are at a stalemate with no indication Thomas will report to camp, and no signs the team will either offer him a new contract or trade him.
Thomas explained his position via Instagram 10 days before training camp was scheduled to begin in Renton, Wash.
“Always been the underdog ain’t nothing new . Extend .....if you don’t want me let’s make a trade happen I understand it’s a bizz.”
NFL Network reported Tuesday the asking price for Thomas in a trade – the Dallas Cowboys and Seahawks have discussed a deal, per reports – remains high. Discussions with the Cowboys reportedly centred around the No 50 overall pick during the 2018 NFL Draft, but the Cowboys drafted offensive tackle Connor Williams. Thomas stayed away from the team during the offseason, training on his own in Texas as the defence in which he starred since being drafted in the first round was gutted.
Cornerback Richard Sherman was released, defensive end Michael Bennett was traded and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson moved on in free agency. Strong safety Kam Chancellor and defensive end Cliff Avril were forced to retire due to injuries. Thomas, 29, signed a four-year, $40 million deal that expires after the 2018 season.
But Thomas is not inclined to wait on another contract and agent David Dunn has successfully navigated holdout situations in the past.

Dez Bryant waiting for ‘contender’ to call
Free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant remains unsigned and reportedly is waiting for a team he considers a championship contender to call.
NFL Network reported Bryant is being choosy after declining a three-year offer from the Baltimore Ravens.
Released by the Dallas Cowboys in April, Bryant, 29, has not received great interest on the open market. Bryant’s production declined in 2017, when he posted 69 receptions for 831 yards.
Depending on Bryant’s definition of championship contender, he could be in for a significant wait while hoping for a landing spot. The New England Patriots will not have Julian Edelman (suspension) until October but added Kenny Britt and Jordan Matthews, and they likely are planning to gauge those veterans before shopping for more help.
In Atlanta, the Falcons drafted wide receiver Calvin Ridley in the first round but could look for another receiver if Julio Jones holds out into the regular season.

Bills sign veteran LB Keenan Robinson
The Buffalo Bills have signed veteran linebacker Keenan Robinson, according to a report by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Terms were not disclosed.
Robinson, 29, was a fourth-round pick by the Washington Redskins in 2012. After three seasons in Washington, he signed with the New York Giants in 2016. He played in 16 games including six starts that season, finishing with 52 tackles and a career-high seven passes defensed.
Robinson played in only six games with three starts in 2017, finishing the season on injured reserve due to a quadriceps injury. He made his first free agent visit to Buffalo in March, and will provide veteran depth in a linebacking corps that features a slew of youth beyond fellow free-agent addition Lorenzo Alexander.
The Bills used the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft on former Virginia Tech star Tremaine Edmunds. A pair of 2017 draft picks, Matt Milano (fifth round) and Tanner Vallejo (sixth) and undrafted rookie Corey Thompson are among players that also include Julian Stanford, Deon Lacey, Ramon Humber and Xavier Woodson-Luster who enter training camp with opportunities to earn significant roles in the linebacking corps.
For his career, Robinson has played in 58 games with 30 starts and has totalled 181 tackles, 15 passes defensed, two interceptions and 1.5 sacks.
