This picture taken yesterday shows excavation works by a British Museum team, which discovered a medieval defensive tower in addition to pottery, in Sidon, southern Lebanon. According to Dr Claude Serhal, head of the British Antiquities Museum’s archaeological excavation team (working since 1998), most of the recent finds on the site of the ancient city of Sidon emphasised the historical richness of the city. It showed the rituals of the Canaanites, the Phoenicians and other historical tribes.
