The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has organised a series of awareness campaigns in youth and cultural centres with the aim of spreading the intellectual property culture among the centre's members and enhancing its concept.

The campaign comes within the framework of continuous co-operation between the MEC and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, to develop the skills of the centres' members and encourage them to be creative and innovative, and enable them to gain practical and professional experience and protect the intellectual property rights of their inventions and innovations.
The campaigns tackled the importance of protection provided by The Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department, and the importance of registering and preserving property rights to support the national industries and products, and upgrading the intellectual, technical level to increase national inventions and innovations.
During the campaigns the main services provided by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce were reviewed. The key initiatives aimed at implementing the highest international standards in the field of intellectual property rights protection, through an integrated electronic system to support and enable creators and owners of trademarks and inventors and innovators to preserve their rights and protect their work and inventions.
The ministry has launched patent registration services, preserving and filing of copyright and related rights and registration of trademarks on its website, to provide services to investors as part of the transformation to provide all services related to intellectual property rights electronically.
