Public transportation provider Mowasalat has announced that it has waived taxi booking and technology service charges with effect from Sunday.
The company made the announcement on Twitter and also posted an explanatory taxi receipt highlighting the changes in the fare structure.
According to the receipt, Mowasalat has waived the technology service charge along with the booking fee.
The technology service charge of QR1 was introduced in February this year, which had raised the minimum fare to QR11 from the previous QR10.
Also, the telephone booking charge had been increased from QR4 to QR5 (within the city) and QR8 (from the city to Hamad International Airport) in February as part of a revised tariff structure.
Now, these booking and technology service charges have been waived and passengers will not have to pay these fees from Sunday, according to Mowasalat's this Twitter post :
