More than 25,000 football fans have visited activations organised by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) in Gorky Park, Moscow, as part of its 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar promotional campaign, sc.qa has reported.
The activations, which run until Sunday, include the three-tiered pop-up space, Majlis Qatar, which gives visitors a taste of the atmosphere they can expect at Qatar2022 and provides details of the SC, along with the Qatari stakeholders helping to deliver the tournament.
Meanwhile, Qatar Elements, the world’s first floating multimedia museum, takes visitors through an immersive show that introduces them to Qatari history, culture and traditions.
The SC has organised these installations to introduce the international football community to Qatar and promote the country as a sporting and cultural hotspot in the lead-up to the Arab world’s first FIFA World Cup, which will kick off on November 21, 2022.
Commenting on the success of the activations, the SC’s Communications director Fatma al-Nuaimi said: “We are thrilled with the huge interest we have received from the global football family.
“Working with our stakeholders, we have introduced thousands of football fans to Qatar and given them key details about the kind of tournament we will host in just over four years’ time – namely one that is compact, hospitable to all and family-friendly. We have also showcased the country as a vibrant hub for sports, culture, tourism and innovation.
“It has been delightful to see the wide variety of people who have visited us from all around the world. We have always maintained that Qatar’s World Cup will be a platform that unites people, breaks down stereotypes and bridges the gap between East and West, and events such as this help us to do all those things.”
In addition to its regular activities, Majlis Qatar is also the host of the football legends match organised in collaboration with Save the Dream, from the International Centre for Sport Security.
Majlis Qatar and Qatar Elements are running alongside various other activations in Doha, Moscow and Saint Petersburg. These include interactive digital portals that connect fans via live video feeds. The SC is also hosting the Qatar @roadto2022 Exhibition at GUM department store in Moscow.
