HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud yesterday met envoy of the Presidency for Negotiation and Diplomatic Communication on Darfur File Dr Amin Hassan Omar and the accompanying delegation who is visiting the country to attend the 13th meeting for the committee on following up the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD).
The meeting discussed the latest development of the peace process in Darfur as well as the implementation path of DDPD in all fields.
The head of the delegation briefed HE the speaker of the advisory council on the latest developments of the peace process in Darfur.
He also expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation to the efforts made by the State of Qatar led by His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, for the peace and development in Darfur which contributed to achieving peace, stability and development.
The meeting was attended by Sudan’s ambassador Fatah al-Rahman and a number of officials from the advisory council. — QNA
