Sulaka, a Iraqi-born Swedish player, is one of the tallest members of the side at 1.93 meters. The 26-year-old, who played for Al Markhiya last season, has already joined Al Khor at their pre-season training camp in the Netherlands.
With Adel al-Sulaimi taking over as coach for Al Khor, the QNB stars League outfit will be looking to get positive results in the new season that kicks off on August 4. Al Khor finished eighth last season.
Al Sailiya sign Syrian winger Youssef ahead of new season
Al Sailiya have signed Syrian winger Fahd Youssef. The 31-year-old attacking midfielder will be part of the pre-season training camp in Tunisia starting next week.
Youssef has appeared for Al Jazeera and Al Wehdat over the course of last three seasons. Earlier Al Sailiya signed Rachid Tiberkanine of Morocco. Sami Trabelsi’s side also has the services of Algerian midfielder Nadir Belhadj, formerly of Al Sadd.
Al Sailiya finished sixth (28 points) in the last season after remaining in fourth spot for many weeks.
Al Sadd launch pre-season training
Al Sadd have kicked off their pre-season training at the club premises. Coached by Jesualdo Ferreira, Sadd players participated in fitness drills during the first session held at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
The training session was attended by a large number of non-international players who will continue training on a daily basis until July 12. Al Sadd will have their pre-season camp in Bad Haring in Austria until July 28. In Austria, Ferreira’s side are scheduled to play friendlies on July 19, 23 and 27 before returning to Doha for the start of the new QNB Stars League season.
