Amir congratulates Belarus president
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani sent yesterday cables of congratulations to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on his country’s National Day. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also sent a similar cable to Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov.

Qatar condemns blast in province of Afghanistan
Qatar has strongly condemned the explosion which took place in Logar Province in central Afghanistan, killing two people and injuring others. In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm position on rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons. It expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims and the government and people of Afghanistan, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
