HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met Senator Richard Burr, Chairman of the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and Senator Mark Warner, Vice Chairman of the Committee, in Washington on Thursday.

During the meeting, they discussed the strategic relations between the two friendly countries, and ways of boosting them, in addition to issues of mutual interest, especially in the field of enhancing co-operation in the fight against terrorism.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister earlier met Senator Bob Crocker, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate and Vice Chairman Senator Bob Menendez.

HE also met separately with a number of members of the Senate and the House of Representatives and representatives of various committees in the US Congress.

During the meetings, the strategic relations between Qatar and the United States and ways of developing them were discussed, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.

Members of the US Congress held a working lunch for the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during which they discussed bilateral ties.

They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
