Amir, Indian PM review ties
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the phone call, the Indian leader congratulated the Amir on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr. The two leaders also reviewed the bilateral relations and means of enhancing them, in addition to the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.

Amir sends greetings to Iceland’s leader
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Iceland’s President Gudni Johannesson on the occasion of his country’s National Day. HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also sent a cable of congratulations to Iceland’s Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir on the same occasion.

Afghanistan suicide attack condemned
Qatar has strongly condemned a suicide bombing in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan which killed at least 25 people during a ceasefire ceremony. In a statement yesterday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s shock, calling the attack a desperate attempt to derail the ceasefire agreement between the Afghan government and the Taliban movement and efforts to bring lasting peace in the country. The statement expressed Qatar’s full solidarity with the Afghan government and its support for all efforts to maintain security and achieve peace and stability. The statement reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons and expressed condolences to the victims’ families, the government and the people of Afghanistan.

The Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has granted an exclusive licence to beIN Media Group for the transmission of the main CAF competitions, including but not limited to, the final tournament and the qualifying matches of the Total Africa Cup of Nations, the Total CAF Champions League, the Total CAF Confederation Cup, the Total CAF Super Cup and the Total Women Africa Cup of Nations.
