Vodafone Qatar has partnered with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and Qatar Tourism Authority as the official Telecoms Partner for the ‘Qatar Fan Zone’ being organised at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena for this summer’s global football tournament.
The Fan Zone activities will kick off today and run until July 15.
The converged digital services provider will be deploying a range of mobile solutions and services to power the fan zone and ensure high-speed connectivity is available to visitors.
This will be supported by Vodafone Qatar’s world-class mobile and fixed network, which was deployed in record speed especially for the fan zone.
This latest move is part of a series of exciting activities and offers that Vodafone Qatar is launching.
Together they were designed to celebrate one of the most anticipated sports events in the world.
The fan zone offers football enthusiasts the perfect opportunity to take in the excitement and passion of the tournament and is the ideal setting to keep up-to-date with all the action in Russia.
The fan zone has been specially-designed to emulate the celebratory atmosphere around the games and gives a foretaste of what fans can expect to experience during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
In addition to screenings of all the matches, the fan zone will feature a range of live entertainment options and concerts between games.
It also includes a designated zone for children and families and an array of food and beverage options.
“Football is one of the country’s favourite sports, and this summer’s tournament in Russia is a very special occasion.
We’re delighted to be so closely involved in this incredible fan-focused celebration and engage with the community at this exciting time.
Vodafone supports the events that matter most to the community and we’ll be working around the clock to enhance fans’ experience of the games,” said Vodafone Qatar COO Diego Camberos.
He added, “Digital technologies and social media are now an integral part of the fan experience, and as a digital first operation, we are perfectly placed to bring this summer’s tournament to the widest possible audience.”
As football enthusiasm reaches fever pitch, fans’ interest in the country will increasingly turn to the upcoming 2022 tournament.
Leveraging its international expertise which is deploying Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for a range of sporting events, such as the London 2012 Olympics or Spain’s La Liga, Vodafone Qatar is ideally placed to deliver a unique end-to-end digital experience using smart stadium technologies in 2022.
