Qatar chapter of Mangol National Organisation (MNO) recently organised a special programme to orientate the Nepali community on Mongoloid stock. MNO is an organisation that focuses on identity movement of ethnic and indigenous community of Mongolian origin.
The speakers were namely, Yuddha Jung Gurung, a journalist; Til Bikram Thebe, Pasang Norbu Lama, Devi Limbu, Hom Rai and Raju Yonjan, MNO advisors; Arjun Syangbo Tamang, MNO spokesperson; Dhanraj Tamang, cultural MNO co-ordinator; and Alina Limbu, MNO women wing head. The speakers highlighted political, economic, religious, educational and socio-cultural matrices of Nepal underpinning the lives of Mongoloid people in the country. MNO is one of the oldest organisations working for ethnic and indigenous communities in Nepal. It was founded by late Dr Gopal Gurung. Chaired by Biru Lama, Secretary, and conducted by Rajeet Gurung, co-Secretary, the programme was attended by a large number of audiences.
