All municipalities in the country have intensified preparations for Eid al-Fitr, through inspection campaigns and visits to food facilities as well as maintaining and equipping public gardens to receive the public during Eid holidays.
The Doha Municipality has set up a team of inspectors and veterinarians to inspect shops selling sweets and nuts and popular kitchens to ensure the safety of food items in them and to check the animals in slaughterhouses on daily basis, as well as inspect vegetables and fruits received to at the central market, refrigerators and warehouses in the industrial zone in order to ensure the highest levels of food safety for consumers.
As part of its preparations for Eid al-Fitr, the Al Shamal Municipality has taken the necessary steps for the comprehensive cleaning of all parks, such as playgrounds, corridors, water coolers, lighting poles and others.
The Al Wakra Municipality also carried out inspection campaigns on the food establishments operating within its jurisdiction before the and during the holy month of Ramadan. The campaigns were carried out during morning on the fish market and some of the institutions that are active during daytime, while the evening and night periods focused of restaurants, coffee shops and juice stalls. The inspection campaigns will continue during Eid.
The Al Sheehaniya Municipality has implemented a plan to prepare for Eid al-Fitr, through several activities, including landscaping, and preparing playgrounds, hygiene of gardens, and monitoring of gardens to ensure the safety and security of visitors and the preservation of public property. (QNA)
