Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, announced on Thursday that she is pregnant with her first child.
The 34-year-old made the announcement in her fitness column for supermarket Waitrose's monthly magazine, telling readers that she did not suffer the severe morning sickness that beset her sister.
"I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness. That meant I was able to carry on as normal," Middleton wrote.
Middleton said fitness was a core component of her pregnancy.
"I've noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it's been strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth and recovery... And ensure that post-baby, my old favourite jeans will still fit eventually!" she wrote.
Middleton married hedge fund manager James Matthews in May 2017 in a ceremony at St Mark's church in Englefield, Berkshire, 75 kilometres west of London.
