Kuwait has expressed hope that the GCC-US summit would take place in September and the meeting would contribute to turning over a new leaf in the history of the relations among the GCC member states.

Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled al-Jarallah said on the sidelines of a "Ghabqa" (dinner banquet in Ramadan) that in a recent speech, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah had expressed feelings of pain and concern about the GCC crisis.

There has been global acceptance and appreciation for Kuwait's efforts, led by Amir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, to mediate the Gulf crisis.
