To help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the F&B sector penetrate global markets, Qatar Development Bank (QDB), through its export development agency ‘Tasdeer’, supported 13 Qatari companies during the ‘Food and Hotel Asia 2018’ held in Singapore.
The special Qatar pavilion offered a platform for SMEs to showcase their products and services, and gain better business ties. “FHA 2018 has proven its ability to attract the right profile and quality trade visitors from across Asia,” QDB said in a statement.
The participating companies include Qatar Meat Production Company, Global Farm for Agriculture, Agrico Organic Farms, Gulf Water Plant, United Mineral Water, Albina Snacks, Kaafe Chocolatier, Oryx Mushrooms Farm, Qatar Food Factories, Gulf Food Production, In-Q Factory & Company, Al Sultaiteen Agricultural & Industrial Complex (SAIC), and Colosseum Doha. QDB CEO Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa said, “QDB is always on the lookout for platforms to help SMEs gain global access, and in continuation with that, we have been participating in several global trade exhibitions. In addition to providing SMEs with the needed support to contribute to the country’s sustainable economy, we offer these companies such platforms to make sure that they reach out to greater markets, as well as showcase their unique offerings to their prospective clients.
“FHA is a platform where we find higher synergies and a perfect setting for SMEs to display their products and services. This year’s edition has been one of the best shows we have participated in and our exhibiting companies benefited a lot from this avenue. In the future, we will keep on offering such enabling platforms to the Qatari SMEs to not only ride their growth but also help in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.”
