The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced the launch of a new service that will enable people to apply for a family visit visa through its website and the Metrash2 application.
This comes within the framework of developing services for the public, the MoI has said in a report.
Brigadier Mohamed Ahmed al-Ateeq, director-general of the Department of Passport and Expatriates Affairs at the MoI, said the new service has been added to the various e-services already provided by the ministry “through the use of modern technology in providing high-quality services to residents and their families”.
He noted that this service is easy to avail and, in case of some missing documents or any other issue, the applicant will get the required alert.
Brigadier al-Ateeq said the e-service is meant for the purpose of providing family visit visa to expatriates in the country. The department evaluated the electronic service over two months and it proved to a “100% success”, he added.
Moreover, he said, the department will evaluate the service daily and work to develop it in order to reduce the number of visitors at the department.
