The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) celebrated yesterday the graduation of its Class of 2018 with 880 students, largest to date, under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.
Among the graduates was the first batch of Associate of Applied Arts in Theatre Arts which comes as a result of the strategic partnership and co-operation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The event, at the Qatar National Convention Centre, featured distinguished guests including government officials, members of CCQ’s board of trustees, as well as faculty, family and friends of the graduating students. 
Outlining the prominent role of CCQ in promoting and facilitating innovation, quality education and academic excellence, Dr Ibrahim al-Naimi, CCQ president and Undersecretary of Ministry of Education and Higher Education stated that over the past years, CCQ has evolved into a magnificent educational landmark that represents a qualitative addition to the State of Qatar through significant contributions to building national cadres and skilled personnel in various fields. “Student enrolment at CCQ grew to around 5,000, compared to 300 students in 2010. On the other hand, the number of academic programmes witnessed another important leap with 15 programmes currently offered at CCQ, including diversified associate and bachelor’s degrees”, added Dr al-Naimi.
In the graduates’ remarks, they affirmed their commitment to help their country and to defend it. They also extended their gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser for their continued support to education in Qatar.
At the end of the ceremony, HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister honoured the graduates.
