The Ministry of Education and Higher Education organised a seminar on the integration of the unjust siege of Qatar into the educational curricula, in which a number of specialists, educators and academics from relevant state authorities took part.
Participants in the seminar agreed on the importance of the subject and to include topics about the siege in educational curricula as a significant historical event.
They also pointed to other beneficial aspects of the unjust siege such as disseminating media awareness and refining the skills of students, and made a number of recommendations in this regard.
Rima Abu Khadija, director of the curricula and learning sources department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said the department will work on an urgent executive plan to include the recommendations of the seminar in the national educational curriculum for the 2018-19 academic year, whether in learning sources or through curricula-based student activities.

Committee for combating
human trafficking meets

The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (NCCHT) met yesterday and reviewed training plan for employees working in combating human trafficking and mechanisms for the work of the Qatari House for Lodging and Humanitarian Care in both legislative and regulatory aspects.
In its meeting, held on a monthly basis, and chaired by HE Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Chairman of the NCCHT, the committee approved a draft memorandum of understanding for co-operation in combating human trafficking with the Centre for Legal and Judicial Studies.
The committee also discussed activities related to the memorandum of understanding signed with the US Department of State, which were implemented during the last period.
It discussed a number of other topics on the agenda and took appropriate decisions.
The NCCHT was set up based on the cabinet decision No 15 of 2017 in order to co-ordinate national efforts to monitor, prevent and combat human trafficking.
