Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a co-operation and partnership agreement with LuLu Hypermarket Group for the Shop and Donate Ramadan 2018 initiative to contribute to charitable projects.
Through this agreement, the two sides will exchange experiences, co-operate and co-ordinate programmes and projects that will be of common interest to the Qatari community, according to a statement.
QC will launch a promotional and marketing campaign while LuLu Group will enable Qatar Charity to have a special identity for their charity cards and  products during Ramadan, Haj and any other season as agreed upon by the two sides.
Qatar Charity CEO Yousif bin Ahmed al-Kuwari said, “Qatar Charity is very pleased to have signed this agreement with LuLu Hypermarket Group because it serves the humanitarian mission, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. QC is always striving to open the horizons of co-operation with various public and private sector institutions so that it can achieve its mission in various aspects and reach the largest number of target groups around the world.”
Al-Kuwari stressed that QC is “always keen to strengthen co-operation with various institutions, including those working in the marketing sector and commercial complexes, to reach as many donors as possible.
He pointed out that this trend has achieved tangible success, helping hundreds of needy people in Qatar and abroad with support from LuLu Hypermarket.
Al-Kuwari praised the role played by LuLu Hypermarket Group in the Qatari society and its keenness to contribute to the welfare of this society and support and assist the groups that deserve assistance, by signing this agreement.
Mohamed Althaf, director of LuLu Group International, said:  “LuLu is looking forward to be an important player in social responsibility programmes held in co-operation with Qatar Charity, based on the values and traditions of our society. 
“Within the context of these social programmes, Qatar Charity had previously signed two co-operation and partnership agreements with LuLu hypermarket, the first one allowing customers to donate riyal and dirham fractions when paying the purchase bill at LuLu hypermarkets, for charitable projects within and outside Qatar as well as for the poor and needy, and the second is to sell charity cards through all LuLu branches to contribute to charity in an easy way for shoppers.”
