Lectures and several activities for students, families and security personnel highlighted the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) month-long ‘Awareness and Preventive Programme,’ held at the Qatargas residential complex in Al Khor.
The events, which concluded last week, were organised by MoI’s Community Police Department in co-operation with the Department of Security, Safety and Environment.
The closing ceremony featured a demonstration of the skills of police dogs in detecting criminals, narcotics and explosives. 
A number of MoI departments, including the Traffic Awareness Department, Civil Defence Department, Northern Security Department, Preventive Security Department, Criminal Evidence and Information Department, took part in the activities.
Hamad al-Mannai, head of safety, security and environment at Qatargas, thanked the Community Police Department and other departments for contributing to the awareness and education activities, which benefited the residents of the complex in different categories and ages.
For his part, Col Sultan Mohamed al-Kaabi, assistant director of Community Police Department, said that MoI was keen to reach all segments of the society to provide educational and awareness services in the various fields of security and safety. 
“This programme was a result of the constructive co-operation between MoI and Qatargas. 
The programme aims to benefit students, families and security personnel at the company’s residential complex in Al Khor.
