The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) hosted an under-14 cricket tournament for schools and academies as the end-of-the-season event. Teams from Birla, Barwa, Ideal, QECC, Stafford, Al Khor, Noble, Pak Shamaa, MES, DPS-MIS, Stallions Academy Black, Stallions Academy Colts and Pakistan International School Qatar took part.
The whole programme was conducted and supervised by Amin-Ul Islam, the Schools Cricket Head at the QCA. The U14 tournament produced a number of talented youngsters, according to Islam. They will be given opportunities to hone their talent in future, he added. As part of its long-term strategy, QCA has been mixing coaching with competitive events to offer a healthy build-up to young players. 
After the initial rounds, Pak Shamaa School and Barwa clashed in one semi-final, while Stallions Cricket Academy (Black) faced DPS-MIS in the other semi-final. 
In the final at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Stallion Cricket Academy produced a fine all-round performance to beat Pak Shamaa School and win the title by eight wickets. Hannan of Stallions Cricket Academy was declared the man of the final.
QCA president Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari and QCA Operations manager Manzoor Ahmad attended the final with other officials. Al-Kuwari presented the trophies.
Hannan and Asad bowled well and took six wickets between them to skittle Pak Shamaa School out for just 88 runs in 13.3 overs. Hannan grabbed four for 22, while Asad returned figures of two for 14. Andrew, Siddharth and Zayan shared three wickets. 
Pak Shamaa School’s Haadi and A Rahman resisted the rivals to some extent. Haadi hit 24 in 16 balls with one six and three fours. A Rahman hit a run-a-ball 17, which had four boundaries. Afsarullah cracked a six and a four in five-ball 11. 
Stallion Cricket Academy chased down the target in 9.1 overs with Jaydan leading the charge. He blasted seven boundaries and a six to post 39 not out in 18 deliveries. Asad also hit 13 not out in 14 balls. The two players forged an unbroken 66-run partnership for the third wicket.
