Qatar Charity (QC) chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser al-Thani has dedicated the Change Maker Award received by QC to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and the people of Qatar as they are the “true change makers through their continued support for humanitarian and development projects to help the poor and needy across the globe”.

QC was honoured with the award at the Aid & Trade Conference and Exhibition, which was held in London last month, for its humanitarian services, development efforts and activities in 70 countries.

QC chairman Sheikh Hamad, who received the award, said the recognition is in honour of the Qatari leadership, government, people and all the benefactors and supporters of charitable work, noting that they are the main supporters of Qatar Charity projects over the past three decades. This, in turn, has had a positive impact on the lives of beneficiaries.

He extended thanks to all donors, supporters, sponsors, collaborators and volunteers. He also expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities for their continuous support to QC by overcoming all difficulties related to the delivery of aid, donations and relief to the needy.

The chairman also appreciated efforts exerted by government agencies and private entities within Qatar to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.

Sheikh Hamad thanked members of the board of directors, members of the general assembly, executive management and directors of the field offices of Qatar Charity and all its employees for their role in QC’s achievements. “Qatar Charity is looking forward to constantly improving its performance and enhancing its capabilities to support the development system in various fields around the world,” the chairman added.
