“We have received numerous requests from adults to provide riding lessons for them. With this new riding facility, we are able to provide a holistic family activity where parents also have the opportunity to join their children as well. In the process, parents not only have the opportunity to learn equestrian skills and become familiar with horses and riding but also able to appreciate and share their children’s experience” said Al Shaqab’s Equine Education manager Mohamed Sultan al-Suwaidi.
Organised and supervised by Al Shaqab’s Equine Education Department, the Al Shaqab’s Ramadan Camp offers participants varied equine related activities that serve as fun and educational introduction to equestrian sports.
The camp will run from May 19 to June 14, 2018, for four weekly periods. Each period will run from Saturday to Thursday, and participants may choose one of the five 45-minute sessions to attend. The five sessions run from 2:30pm to 3:15pm, 3:30pm to 4:15 pm, 4:30pm to 5:15 pm, 9:30pm to 10:15 pm and 10:30pm to 11:15pm.
Each registered participant will have daily riding lessons for the period and session they registered for.
Fees for 3-7-year-olds are QR600 per child per week, for 8-17-year-olds it’s QR750 per child per week. For 18-year-olds and above, the fees are QR900 per person per week.
Parents, who do not sign up for riding lessons, can also engage in sporting activities while their children attend the camp. Specially designated exercise areas have been set aside for this purpose including a 400 meters indoor walking course, exercise mats, spinning bikes, skipping ropes and stability exercise balls. A kids’ zone area will be also provided for children up to right years old.
To ensure the best experience for all participants, the number of participants per week will be limited. Therefore, early registration is advised. For more information and registration for the Ramadan Camp, please visit www.alshaqab.com.
