The second edition of 'Made at Home' exhibition will take place in October this year as part of Qatar Development Bank's (QDB) strategy to support home-based entrepreneurs who play a key role in accelerating local economic growth.
The exhibition is being organised by QDB with the active co-operation of Qatar Chamber, NAMA Centre and the Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs.
The five-day event will be hosted at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, starting from October 14.
It aims at encouraging and supporting Qatari home-based entrepreneurs to develop their abilities and capabilities by offering them a unique opportunity to display their products and services to the local market through new marketing windows, which will not only contribute to the diversification of the national economy but also support the small and medium industry, encourage new entrepreneurial pursuits and empower micro-businesses.
"Due to the pivotal role the home-based business play and the significant impact they have in contributing to the development of the national economy, QDB will continue to support and empower these businesses, enhance entrepreneurs’ skills, improve levels of production and provide them with market access opportunities to transform these businesses into larger enterprises in the near future," said AbdulAziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa, QDB chief executive.
Around 250 exhibitors are expected to participate in this year’s exhibition, showcasing a wide range of local products in sectors such as fashion, jewellery, arts and crafts, food and beverage.
The first edition, which witnessed the participation of 144 local home-based businesses, targeted a variety of sectors such as art crafts, technologies, food and beverage and jewellery with total sales reaching QR2.5mn.
