Al Meera Consumer Goods Company opened its latest branch in Leabaib 1 on Tuesday as part of an expansion strategy to reach all regions of the country.
The opening of the new shopping centre is part of Al Meera’s philosophy to be the ‘Favourite Neighbourhood Retailer’, in terms of providing the highest quality products at affordable prices to the communities in which it operates. This aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and supports the population boom that Qatar is witnessing.
The branch was inaugurated in the presence of Al Meera chairman Sheikh Thani bin Thamer bin Mohamed al-Thani, vice chairman Dr Saif al-Sowaidi, acting CEO Cobus Lombard, and deputy CEO Salah al-Hammadi, along with Al Meera executive and senior staff.
The 7,162sqm new supermarket, located as a second offering within Leabaib, is equipped to serve residents in the area with fresh sections that Al Meera customers have grown accustomed to. It includes butchery, fishery, bakery, and a delicatessen.
Al-Hammadi said: “We are particularly proud of reaching this amazing milestone of 50 stores, and it is one that has been achieved through the support of the leadership of the State of Qatar, the support of many ministries, the countless support of the municipalities, the efforts of our teams, and ultimately the continued patronage of our loyal customers.”
He added: “The opening of Al Meera’s second branch in Leabaib brings our seamlessly integrated shopping experience to the residents of the town and demonstrates our unwavering commitment to meeting our customers’ expectations. With our contribution to the real estate development of every neighbourhood in the country, we strive to make a difference in the daily lives of citizens and residents.
“It is through offering a vast range of competitively priced food and non-food products under one roof, coupled with an unmatched shopping experience and best-in-class service that Al Meera has emerged as the destination of choice for consumers in Qatar.”
The opening of the Leabaib 1 branch follows the launch of Al Meera’s latest state-of-the-art stores throughout Qatar, as part of its plan to introduce a number of new shopping centres to consumers across regions that are witnessing a population boom or those that will benefit from increased customer choice.
Al Meera is currently working on the establishment of more branches in locations that have been carefully chosen in close coordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to further contribute to the development and urbanisation of more districts of Qatar.
With the opening of its new branch of Leabaib 1, and continuing to make progress in its ambitious expansion strategy, Al Meera is fulfilling its responsibility towards the community it serves by honouring its commitment to provide consumers across Qatar’s various regions with the highest quality products at affordable prices. This is all done in the framework of effectively contributing to the urban development of the country and its role in the realisation of the National Vision for the year 2030.
