Industries Qatar (IQ) has appointed Mohamed Nasser Mubarak A al-Hajri as managing director of Qatar Steel with effect from today. He holds a Master’s degree in Gas Engineering from University of Salford in the UK and Bachelors’ degree in Chemical Engineering from Qatar University. He joined Qatar Petroleum (QP) in 1991 and has more than 26 years of experience in upstream and downstream. Al-Hajri has previously occupied various positions and responsibilities as executive vice president Downstream Development Directorate of QP and vice chairman of IQ. He is currently vice-chairman Woqod and also the chairman of Ras Girtas Power Company.
