The Advisory Council held its weekly session under the chairmanship of HE the Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud.
At the invitation of the Speaker, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) president Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari and Public Works Authority (Ashghal) president Saad bin Ahmed al-Mohannadi briefed the Council on the progress of infrastructure projects in accordance with the comprehensive urban plan being implemented in the country and what has been achieved in this regard.
The Speaker praised the important role played by Kahramaa and Ashghal in carrying out major development projects in the country and serving citizens under the wise leadership His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The Speaker thanked al-Kuwari and al-Mohannadi for accepting the invitation and attending the session. He invited them to talk to the members of the Council to listen to their views and answer their queries.
The discussions focused on the progress of the infrastructure projects being implemented in the country, the achievements, the plans and programmes for the coming period, as well as the obstacles the work may 
face and how to address them.
After the discussions, the Speaker praised presidents of Kahramaa and Ashghal for their information on the regularity of work in the development and construction projects according to the plans and with satisfactory completion rates, despite the unjust siege imposed on the country. 
At the end of the meeting, he briefed the Council on the meeting held on Sunday with the delegation of European Parliament’s Qatari-European 
Friendship Group. 
He said that he explained to the delegation the economic and legislative developments in Qatar, and spoke to the delegation about the unjust siege that the country is being subjected to, which violates international law and the principles of good neighbourliness and does not take into account the bases that should prevail in international relations.
The Advisory Council speaker conveyed to the Council the delegation’s appreciation for the development witnessed by Qatar and its wishes for an early solution to the Gulf crisis as well as its aspiration for further co-operation and co-ordination between the Advisory Council and the European 
Parliament. (QNA)
