An auction of exquisite rugs and carpets, ‘Woven Stories: Persian - Kashmiri - Tribal -Hereke’, was held at AlBahie Auction House, Katara - the Cultural Village yesterday evening. According to information available on the AlBahie website, the rugs and carpets on offer included a fine Hereke pure silk rug with intricate floral motif, a fine Qum Qatafat pure silk rug with intricate Botteh pattern, a late 20th century Royal blue Isfahan durri carpet, a Blue Mosque dome design Pashmina wool carpet, an early 20th century Tabriz Mehdi Khan iconic Ardabil design wool carpet, an Uzbek Suzani rug naturally dyed with Indigo blue and Maddar red, and a pure Kashmiri silk carpet with Sufra design, among
