The General Directorate of Civil Defence yesterday hosted a meeting with representatives of the organisations who took part in the Samlah2 exercise at the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College recently.
Major Mohamed Ahmad al-Marafi, director of Operations Department at Civil Defence, lauded the efforts of the participants, stressing the exercise was aimed at measuring the readiness of stakeholders in dealing with incidents and the speed of response to communications based on competence.
Major Faiz al-Anzi, from Operations Department at Al Shamal said the Samlah2 exercise included five scenarios, namely a gas leak at an industrial facility, a jet fire, a residential tower fire, a building collapse and a chemical leak scenario.
Brigadier Hamad Osma al-Duhaimi, assistant director general of the Civil Defence honoured the participants.
